Lights, camera, action! The Plaza Theatre in Northwich was bustling with excitement on a cold Sunday morning in early March as the cast of Rock of Ages gathered to shoot an electrifying trailer for their upcoming production. Despite the chill in the air, the atmosphere was buzzing with anticipation for a day filled with music, dance, and creativity.

The trailer, fully realized by the talented members of the cast, promised to capture the essence of Rock of Ages – a high-energy journey through the exhilarating world of 80s rock. With Joel Merry behind the camera and editor Jon Hall directing the action, the team was ready to bring their vision to life.
Photography extraordinaire Luke Cannon was on hand to capture every moment. From candid backstage shots to capturing epic dance sequences in a single image, Luke’s keen eye added an extra layer of magic to the behind-the-scenes process. You’ll be seeing more from Luke in the coming weeks!
What truly set this trailer shoot apart was the dedication and generosity of all involved. In true KMTC style, they poured their hearts and souls into the production, donating and sourcing everything from equipment and costumes to props and musical instruments. It was a true testament to their passion for the craft and their commitment to making the trailer as authentic and captivating as possible.
As the day progressed, choreographer Dani Fray’s dynamic dance routines took center stage, infusing the trailer with energy and excitement. From pulsating rock anthems to soulful ballads, Fray’s choreography brought each musical number to life.
But perhaps the most thrilling aspect of the shoot was the inclusion of drone shots, capturing sweeping aerial views of the stage. These breathtaking shots added a cinematic quality to the trailer, elevating it to new heights and giving audiences a glimpse of the grandeur and scale of the production.
