So yesterday marked the end of the year for our young KYDDS, and what a year it has been!! Not only for the amazing performance of "I Have A Dream" back in March; but also how much the young performers have developed. This was especially noted by the awarding of the prestigious "Lillian Atkinson Award" (I don't think we have come up with a name for it yet!!) to Hannah Lynes as the most improved performer of the year.
We unfortunately ended up not performing the "End Of Year Showcase", and this was due to the fact we haven't really had everyone at every rehearsal, but the choice was made that we would still perform the 2 routines which they had previous learnt: "Summer Nights" and "A Little Bit Of Luck". Both were performed fantastically and gave our newest member of the team an insight into what these KYDDS can do; this member in question that I must introduce is Jeff Evans, also known as my Dad, who has agreed to produce the show next year. This then leaded into a bit of a party for the KYDDS with food and karaoke, although the mics were determined to ruin it!!! But it allowed the KYDDS to be able to have a bit of fun, especially since it is the last time some will see each other until September.
Overall it was a good night, and I know that people can't wait to get started on our new show next year!!
See you in September!!
